Nous avons aussi croisé un lynx;
- Proverbe Finlandais -
3 and a half months of canoeing in Finland in complete autonomy with a drone and a small incursion in Russia which has earned us from being removed from our freedom by Finnish rangers ...
However, we have met so many caring, kind and inquisitive people that we view this trip as a gift of life.
We also crossed a lynx;
Without images of the feline, we wouldn't have said anything !
From mid-May to the end of July we traveled more than 1200 km of canoe and enjoyed a hundred kilometers of portages through national parks, from huge lakes to tiny rivers to mesmerizing marshes.
Until the meeting of a Finnish family that will upset the course of our journey, its purpose and also a little of our life.
The month of August took place around a cabin / sauna at the edge of a lake, which has been lent to us for no time and to which we can return as we wish !
The stranger is our brother; The man who has come a long way is our parent.
- Finnish proverb -

"Life is sad when you are alone, it is much better when you are two"
- Finnish proverb -
Each day of departure is the beginning of a new adventure.
We go from lake to lake, our guiding thread is half of the food we deposited in Oravi.
We particularly appreciated the different navigable environments that this country offers.
The atmosphere is very different whether you are on a lake, a river or even in a swamp.
Some uneven passages are made on foot: the current is too dingy.
Oddly as we go south, south / east, the current is still against us.
But we have nothing against him! We have also come to come up rivers, so much more rewarding than to go down.
We move in the middle of civilization since we are in the heart of a village completely absent from the decor.
It's just like nature kept all its rights.
We still see dozens of saunas laid by the river.
And we regularly surprise people all naked in the sun in their garden, who did not expect to see a canoe tumble! It is only us to worry because nudity is part of the Finnish culture.
The road we see on the image was totally invisible at our level.
We snack before beginning the first rapids that make us doubt !
Yet we remain certain to know that we will pass, our only doubt is to know where ? In the water or in the forest ?
We are on a canoe route, it leads to Varkaus and this kind of maps make things really easy. All maps indicate what types of infrastructure are available at each bivouac and where portages are located.
Let's go for a craft lift. Amélie is busy making images, each one her role.
To go up a river gives a sensation that is difficult to explain, since it is made to be lived !
The more you grow up and the more you negotiate your participation, even if you remain voluntary.
I let you do it and when you cross certain limits, I just have to remind you that trust is a commitment that must be mutual to work !
Rivers are not conducive to discussion, every turn the environment changes and the spirit lets the landscape scroll, which keeps us attentive.
We find a bivouac that is still the end of a path to put the boats in the water.
No houses around.
We know that the corner is calm because we have swept the place of a couple of swans.
We will remain a day on the spot and they will come regularly to show us their disagreement.
Evening light. The drone has a range of 7km and the free flight allows to make images while discovering its environment.
4 o'clock in the morning, woken by the swans come screaming in front of the tent, the atmosphere grabs me.
The traces of an old dyke are visible.
