Nous avons aussi croisé un lynx;
- Proverbe Finlandais -
3 and a half months of canoeing in Finland in complete autonomy with a drone and a small incursion in Russia which has earned us from being removed from our freedom by Finnish rangers ...
However, we have met so many caring, kind and inquisitive people that we view this trip as a gift of life.
We also crossed a lynx;
Without images of the feline, we wouldn't have said anything !
From mid-May to the end of July we traveled more than 1200 km of canoe and enjoyed a hundred kilometers of portages through national parks, from huge lakes to tiny rivers to mesmerizing marshes.
Until the meeting of a Finnish family that will upset the course of our journey, its purpose and also a little of our life.
The month of August took place around a cabin / sauna at the edge of a lake, which has been lent to us for no time and to which we can return as we wish !
The stranger is our brother; The man who has come a long way is our parent.

Finland is a paradise for canoeing as it is the country with the largest freshwater area in terms of area.
It's also 188,000 lakes and as many islands.
The distances are never small, each detour is in kilometers. The canoe is visible on the beach.
This is the Päijänne National Park.
We are on the main island of the national park which measures 8 km, the largest islands that can be found in Finland extend up to 12 km.
Breakfast'. It starts again for 3 and a half months of daily pancakes with various fillings.
Since the time we modified the recipe so as not to break too quickly !
Since the time we modified the recipe so as not to break too quickly !
The temperature is ideal for flying, and discovering our environment motivates us to let go.
We enjoy this day to test the swim and understand that we have too many clothes with us ...
We decide for the next day to do the 10 km that separate us from the car to lighten us and leave on another bivouac.
We too are struggling to take off ! During this trip we met dozens of swans.
The tent hidden but not too much. It's still a kind of bivouac hard to leave !
Hardwoods do not yet offer any shade.
We are well organized and it takes us 1 to 2 hours to fold the camp, including breakfast. It will depend on the terrain, the weather, the night and the mood of the day.
Finns in Kayak,
Finns in canoe ! We exchange a few words and everyone greets each other by wishing each other good sailing ... we have never known so much attention to ourselves since our arrival ... We start to think that they are really Nice Finns.
Brief return to Padasjoki to leave 5 kg of clothes but it is not the weight that is rather the volume.
Leaving on a Wednesday, we come back on a sunny Friday and the parking lot is crowded. We will eliminate anything that is duplicated or planned for the cold.
A quarter of an hour later, we headed for a second bivouac north.
We leave again with this feeling of having forgotten something !
Arrival at the second bivouac, Finns are there with their kayaks, sober and benevolent welcome.
We do not bother to filter the water anymore! It is so clear, provided with fish and with a divine taste, so how could we believe that it is bad ... The filter is still travel.
We accept the "turista" it provokes for a week and then we allow our immune system to strengthen.
