Nous avons aussi croisé un lynx;
- Proverbe Finlandais -
3 and a half months of canoeing in Finland in complete autonomy with a drone and a small incursion in Russia which has earned us from being removed from our freedom by Finnish rangers ...
However, we have met so many caring, kind and inquisitive people that we view this trip as a gift of life.
We also crossed a lynx;
Without images of the feline, we wouldn't have said anything !
From mid-May to the end of July we traveled more than 1200 km of canoe and enjoyed a hundred kilometers of portages through national parks, from huge lakes to tiny rivers to mesmerizing marshes.
Until the meeting of a Finnish family that will upset the course of our journey, its purpose and also a little of our life.
The month of August took place around a cabin / sauna at the edge of a lake, which has been lent to us for no time and to which we can return as we wish !
The stranger is our brother; The man who has come a long way is our parent.

Le compte-rendu : Nav 36 - 03 Août (mise à jour : 13 janv. 2018)
On the 3rd of August we leave the 130 kilometers that separate us from Padasjoki to reach the car, since we decide to finish our trip to the cabin.
We take advantage of this unexpected gift to reflect on our life to the rhythm of a soothing nature.
Quiet and Finnish!
Initially we thought to make the trip in 3 or 4 days...

The first part of the route includes two portages that do not exceed 5 km.
We leave with a total weight of a hundred pounds, canoeing included.
It becomes almost easy, this lightness.
These are just small roads waiting for us since we have to go from lake to lake.
We start by wondering what surprises we reserve this course.
Paths in the wild are certainly less flat than an asphalt road,
but roads remain lanes for cars that do not always offer shade.
It is 5 meters from the launch, I plant the canoe .... too hurried !
Before going on the field, we went to check if it was possible to ask permission to pass, but as nobody was present, we had our answer.
It has more panache than an asphalt road !
In this kind of passage, mosquitoes give rhythm!
The gravel roads that pass through the forests,
are often the occasion to see animals crossing.
The atmosphere remains very calm and the course runs through the noise of chippings that crackle at the passage of wheels.
We leave the chippings for clay,
and the last meters to reach the water are often chaotic.
We send the drone from the edge of the water to find the easiest way out !
At this moment, the drone in full sky says that there is an obstacle in front of him !! And so he refuses to move! The panic is established by the fact that there is 27% battery, it is little ... I react by disabling the anti-obstacle system from the remote but the drone reacts with a slowness that does not bode well, especially that we do not have it in sight...
I order the automatic return but nothing starts, I cut the image recording to save fuel and with the camera pointed at the ground, I arrive in fits and starts to bring the drone over an area grassy, 1 minute after the drone landed at 0% battery. We will find him after 10 minutes of walking in a place where we were preceded by 4 herons, curious to come and inspect the machine that had just landed.
It's a day when we thought we could do more kilometers but the feeling tells us that it's better to rest tonight, without putting too much stress.
We will stop at night at the entrance to Jousta, after 35 km and two portages, without knowing that the next day would be the longest of all our sailing.
