Nous avons aussi croisé un lynx;
- Proverbe Finlandais -
3 and a half months of canoeing in Finland in complete autonomy with a drone and a small incursion in Russia which has earned us from being removed from our freedom by Finnish rangers ...
However, we have met so many caring, kind and inquisitive people that we view this trip as a gift of life.
We also crossed a lynx;
Without images of the feline, we wouldn't have said anything !
From mid-May to the end of July we traveled more than 1200 km of canoe and enjoyed a hundred kilometers of portages through national parks, from huge lakes to tiny rivers to mesmerizing marshes.
Until the meeting of a Finnish family that will upset the course of our journey, its purpose and also a little of our life.
The month of August took place around a cabin / sauna at the edge of a lake, which has been lent to us for no time and to which we can return as we wish !
The stranger is our brother; The man who has come a long way is our parent.
- Finnish proverb -

Pour Amélie,
c'est maintenant que le voyage commence.
For Amélie,
it's now that the travel begins.
c'est maintenant que le voyage commence.
For Amélie,
it's now that the travel begins.
The journey is at a pace that rarely exceeds 110 km/h, we plan about thirty hours to get to Lübeck. The real advantage is that the fuel consumption becomes ridiculous and most importantly, we put a maximum of chances on our side, not to have an accident.
After a serious break in Germany in the car, this is the first year that we board at night at 3am, but we must arrive 2 hours before departure.
The mood changes. Everyone knows that we will take the same ferry and that for 32 hours we will all cross and meet again, doing nothing.
May 15 02 h 00 / That day, the friendly employee of the company makes the remark that we are the only French of the trip, and yet the voice announcements aboard the ferry will also be declaimed in French ... After the Finnish, the English, German and Russian. It is the concern for equity that matters.
The guy sees that Amélie is filming him and he goes back into his game by offering us a beautiful image, which will end with a broad smile. We remain sensitive to such details that allow us to feel welcom.
The canoe disappears in the reflections.
The majority are Finnish, the atmosphere is calm and people speak softly, except some children who seem to be able to scream as they please !
The first night is life saving and then it leaves for 1300 km of Ferry and boredom.
Prisoners for the time it lasts at this pace without excess.
You are not young enough to believe that it would be enough to row to advance faster !
Everyone goes around 3 times before being convinced, or not, that it will take out the bank card to fill his desires !
The fewer things to see and the more people watch their unconscious venture.
The Baltic is melancholic !
Hub-water.
To serve the 12 bridges of the ferry there are 3 lifts, at our ages we prefer the chromatic ascents.
We chose a windowless cabin, otherwise it's 35 euros extra per way.
The ferry trip is a real budget: round trip, with car for two people: 824 euros.
There are shared cabins that cost only 40 euros but our configuration, adult / minor, requires us to take a cabin that costs 150 euros in May and 180 at the end of August.
Making the whole trip by car would be a bit cheaper, but with more risk and above all much more tiring and complicated to handle.
So without a window in the cabin, we take the air as soon as the oppression is felt.
Everyone kills his time as he wishes.
And if the Baltic was beer, how long would it take to empty it !!
There is always a place for one who knows how to appreciate the capacities of the sun.
You've never had the eyes of your age.
We walk when everyone is asleep.
The morning arrival in Helsinki is one after another for big boats of all kinds.
May 16th. 9 am / The air is of a dynamic freshness like the flight of the seagulls who laugh !
Like these laughter.
My daughter asks me "why is there" FIN "at the back of the car"? At first I answer her that "it is a Finnish who wants to let know that his car stops there !"
Stop your bullshit, she told me !
So I say to her: "It's because we're only at the beginning." ... And there, I can see that it's challenging her !

May 16th. 10 H 00. It's at the bottom of the bridge that we will begin to let our emotions in Suomi.
