Nous avons aussi croisé un lynx;
- Proverbe Finlandais -
3 and a half months of canoeing in Finland in complete autonomy with a drone and a small incursion in Russia which has earned us from being removed from our freedom by Finnish rangers ...
However, we have met so many caring, kind and inquisitive people that we view this trip as a gift of life.
We also crossed a lynx;
Without images of the feline, we wouldn't have said anything !
From mid-May to the end of July we traveled more than 1200 km of canoe and enjoyed a hundred kilometers of portages through national parks, from huge lakes to tiny rivers to mesmerizing marshes.
Until the meeting of a Finnish family that will upset the course of our journey, its purpose and also a little of our life.
The month of August took place around a cabin / sauna at the edge of a lake, which has been lent to us for no time and to which we can return as we wish !
The stranger is our brother; The man who has come a long way is our parent.

Day so long that the battery of the GPS will not be enough to cover everything although it is fully charged daily.This is our first invitation to eat and not the last! We are heading towards a shelter located on a map but unfortunately for us, it will be unusable and as there is no ground to pitch the tent, we find refuge in the camp's log cabin, which we have to clean before settling.
We will lose all the camera images of this period since the hard disk on which we unload the cards did not correctly empty a card, on which we rewrite data since it is specially dedicated to record in 4K... it was me therefore impossible to recover these images several months later !

Barely 2 hours after our breakfast, we ask permission to go on the ground to make a small portage and we are invited to eat ... a pity to have lost these images since the table was filled and our hosts were discussing with us while watching us eat !
We ate salami, cashews, ham, cheese, tomatoes, butter, coffee, milk, 3 kinds of bread, wild berries from the region, yogurts, raisins, cakes of rice and they ended up helping us push the canoe into the first side, at the foot of the house. there were 5 people but some had to leave before our departure. The big bowl of fresh cashews took a hell of a slap but they are certainly the best we've had in our life !
We will spend this small portage to savor the euphoria that caused this human encounter, while remembering each of the food flavors of this meal. Then with the energy of all these nuts, all we had to do was carry on our guilt of having eaten everything !
We can distinguish the traces of the animals passing by !
Sometimes we hear a car pass, but the asphalt does not impose its presence.
Each on its bank, each birch !
The unevenness sometimes creates short areas, in which the relief of the ground is formidable then I cling to the trees to take support.
Then everything becomes navigable again.
The only lock with hands of the trip and our life .... Everyone expects the drone is in place and is doing its best to make the image look good.
The old man on the platform recognizes us and it is reciprocal: We have discussed with him three days and several kilometers before.
The marshy areas are shallow and it is often that we catch huge pikes that jump out of the water and surprise us !
The lotus leaves affirm the good health of these waters, with distinctive tastes according to the crossed regions. In the swamps the water with a small taste of peat.
The drone also allows us to verify that we are well in the right way, while making images.
We will end this day among other Finns in their boats watching the giant fire, on an island, which celebrates the summer solstice. People will accompany us with their boat to show us where the shelter is.
The shelter that we squatted for one night and in which we had to put the floor of our tent to avoid obvious dirt ... The only shelter of the camp gave off a smell of piss / vomit that we ran away.
