Nous avons aussi croisé un lynx;
- Proverbe Finlandais -
3 and a half months of canoeing in Finland in complete autonomy with a drone and a small incursion in Russia which has earned us from being removed from our freedom by Finnish rangers ...
However, we have met so many caring, kind and inquisitive people that we view this trip as a gift of life.
We also crossed a lynx;
Without images of the feline, we wouldn't have said anything !
From mid-May to the end of July we traveled more than 1200 km of canoe and enjoyed a hundred kilometers of portages through national parks, from huge lakes to tiny rivers to mesmerizing marshes.
Until the meeting of a Finnish family that will upset the course of our journey, its purpose and also a little of our life.
The month of August took place around a cabin / sauna at the edge of a lake, which has been lent to us for no time and to which we can return as we wish !
The stranger is our brother; The man who has come a long way is our parent.

- Proverbe Finlandais -
We find bivouac just before the rapids that we must cross thereafter. We are still far from imagining what this new day will bring us as a surprise.
"The ignorant gives himself trouble and arrives at nothing, the clever man easily achieves his goal."

- Finnish proverb -
Misty awakening; At the exact moment of canoeing, a guy tumbles and vehemently signals to us, pointing his finger at the ground, that "this is my beach"! So I answer phlegmatically that his "beach is beautiful" and that is why we had a great night! he finally starts to smile, he understands that we will go up the river and a little confused by this discovery, he wishes us good road, I thank him for welcoming us.
We know that this recovery will last a few days and this time, we spend in the water for pleasure and also because it's the only choice.
Dropping a drone into a river is always less categorical than dropping it in a lake 50 meters deep !
So we do not hesitate to make images while not forgetting the power lines and metal bridges that create interference with the remote !
As much as possible, it is rock on rock.
The water is cool but surely not enough to stop me from staying there as long as necessary.
The first part was easy.
Then after a while, step back to get back !
You see that it was far from impossible !
Curious people arrive and Amélie who manages the camera, includes them naturally in the plan.
Understanding that they made images, I ask them to wait for the time to mount the drone to also make images.
First part crossed.
Sampsa and Mari Varonen. Once everyone in situation in the mind of everyone, they invite us to eat since their house is perfectly on our way.
This half-turn holds us a surprise a day !
It only remained for us to join them and it is after an hour and a half that we will succeed.
During this time everyone fulfills his role, Amélie films images while I take my foot back in the water.
Recovery on the shore of what I have most valuable in the world! And we begin to play seagulls, imagining what is waiting for us to eat !
Watch the scalp !
Arrived at the house of Varonen, Mari's parents are present.
We land gently, we know that the contrast will surprise us. Photo: Mari Varonen.
Mari has worked two years in France at Disneyland, so she has some notions of French, otherwise we use English.
Amelie eats salmon from her eyes.
From the bed of a river with the friendly comfort of a Finnish family, the contrast grabs us heartily. Photo: Mari Varonen.
From the water of the rapids to a glass of refined wine, there is only the way of conviviality. Photo: Mari Varonen.
The trees hide all the houses.
It is this side "wild nature" that we particularly like.
It's time to sail a little, before separating. Mari and Sampsa told us clearly that they would have liked to invite us to their home but their obligations did not allow them to do so at this time.
We are all on the water.
How lucky to live here.
They will accompany us to the next river entry and, also by benevolence, we say that it must be particularly difficult to go to Juva, our goal.
Manual recovery of the drone ! Photo: Mari Varonen.
Truly.
The drone offers us the vision of a beauty that appears flatter on our level.
Arrived at the bottom of the lake, it is a question of finding the continuation of the course.
Really.....
Still missed the entrance !!
But it's possible to see that it's not entirely our fault! the terrain is really ambiguous !
You must never take a turn too fast !
Once in the river, the current is still against us, so we gain momentum at the sight of the waves that await us.
We paddle like deaf for the time it takes, until we have to join a rock to regain strength and recover the drone !
I had not imagined that I will still have dessert !
I have a hard time explaining to my daughter the deep reasons that make me love the rise of a river at this point. It is a mix of effort, tenacity, resourcefulness and patience while having the certainty to evolve among the elements.
Then I see that you too are focused and you live the moment, since up a river is really the pleasure of finding his way despite everything.
At sunset ..... Still blocked in tufts of reeds !
When you are told that at a height of man it is without prospects !
At first it passes, then the tufts of reeds tighten and form a flowerbed.
On which it is absolutely possible to walk, with precautions! Then I pull the canoe up to the marked exit with the drone.
And why not !
Never worry in these moments but a lot of derision !
It's like we're coming out of nowhere.
Between two worlds.
We were really far from the entrance of the passage but we can do nothing: at water level it is, for us, impossible to spot.
The camp is just 50 meters ahead of us, it's an official road for canoe kayaks.
